This is a family of 7 geese (mother, father and their 5 goslings) that I watched from the time the goslings first appeared on the lake. One early morning, while hiking around the lake, I came upon all 7 geese walking along the same path. As I was walking faster then they were, I started to get too close and all at once, they flew out over the lake (which was below me). This photo is not black and white. I have been an avid photographer since childhood, noticing the beauty in the architecture, landscapes and wildlife, and loving the challenge of creating just the right composition and mixture of colors and textures.
